SPECT CT Case Study

BrightView XCT SPECT CT Case Study

High resolution SPECT CT images of the wrist acquired on our BrightView XCT.

Tracer used :  99mTc-HDP
Low Dose CT slice width: 0.33mm isotropic voxels
Total imaging time: 15 mins

HISTORY:  Ongoing RT wrist pain after injury.

TECHNIQUE:  Regional scintigraphy with SPECT/CT was performed following intravenous injection of tracer.

FINDINGS: There is markedly increased vascularity in the right wrist flow phase of the study. In the delayed images there is intense uptake in the right scaphoid and mild increased uptake in the right lunate bone best demonstrated on the  SPECT/CT images.

COMMENT: There is a recent fracture of the right scaphoid bone demonstrated scintigraphically.  Features of bone contusion involving the right lunate bone are also noted.
