Musculoskeletal Imaging
At Sydney Xray Bondi Junction, the staff are highly skilled in performing musculoskeletal examinations.
MRI - MRI can provide clear and detailed pictures of soft tissue structures near and around bones and joints, such as tendons, ligaments, muscles, joint capsule and mass. As MRI uses a magnetic field the patient is not exposed to radiation as is the case with other imaging examinations
Types of musculoskeletal MRI’s include ankle, hip, knee, shoulder and wrist.
Ultrasound - Ultrasound scanning is used to diagnose abnormalities within the soft tissue surrounding bones and joints. Ultrasound imaging involves exposing part of the body to high-frequency sound waves to produce pictures of the inside of the body. Because ultrasound images are captured in real-time, they can show the structure and movement of muscles, tendons and ligaments.
Ultrasound imaging is a noninvasive medical test that helps physicians diagnose and treat medical conditions.
