Nuclear Medicine
Nuclear medicine uses small amounts of radioactive tracers to provide functional and anatomical information about your body. Typically, the Technologist will administer the tracer via injection into a vein of your arm and take pictures at various intervals using a machine called a Gamma Camera. The Gamma camera converts the rays coming from your body after injection into an image on a computer to be interpreted by the Nuclear Medicine Physician.
Most Nuclear Medicine procedures involve a short visit in the morning and then a subsequent visit a few hours later. The amount of radiation used in Nuclear medicine procedures is very small and completely disappears from the body.
We can perform a wide range of procedures at Sydney Xray Bondi Junction. Bookings are essential as the injections and tracers used are ordered in on a daily basis.
